I know many of you, like myself, at one point had their attention taken by one of those we will help you lose weight quick ideas. Whether it was a diet or fitness plan it just sounded so good and you wanted results so bad you thought about it, or maybe you even tried it. I started focusing on my health after my first son was born. At that time I was completely out of shape and just had a baby in which I gained 40 pounds and unlike members of Royalty I did not leave the hospital in my pre pregnancy clothing! In that moment I would have done just about anything to feel like myself again. That is when my husband dragged me to crossfit. During the years since then, about 6, I have become really focused on my own health and wellness as well as that of my family.
After really focusing on this lifestyle for 6 years I want to share with you the secret because I finally learned it. The secret is, there is no secret. I know, not really the answer you were looking for. The way I see it now is if it claims to help you lose weight quick or get healthy fast or work your abs while snacking on the couch, RUN! While these programs may help you shed pounds fast, most likely you will not keep them off. If you want to lose weight and get in better shape and actually be healthy, you have to WORK for it. Yes I said work, and when I say work I mean like actual work.
This work will be challenging at times and you will want to give up but the real secret to success, they one they don't want you to know about, is being consistent. You have to show up and put in the work every single day. Even on Saturday and your birthday and your cousins wedding. Every day! This doesn't mean you don't ever get to treat yourself. I am not about that life! Your favorite foods in moderation on a special occasion is going to be ok as long as you get back on track right after and you do not use it as an excuse to then have a week of eating poorly because you had a treat.
